Exhibition “Battle for Moscow. First Victory "
This exhibition is dedicated to the battle of World War II, which included a complex set of operations of different nature, intense fighting and confrontations that took place over a vast territory during 203 days and nights.
The Battle of Moscow took place between September 30, 1941 and April 20, 1942. The exhibition focuses mainly on the decisive turn of the battle, from November 1941 to January 1942. The images in the exhibition show two different aspects of the conflict: the frontline and the city. The photojournalists, who accompanied Red Army soldiers from one battle to the next, always returned to the city to produce their photographs. During their staying in Moscow, they captured the image of the city, that was being prepared to repel the enemy's assault.
These events important for the history of Russia, because fierce battles took place near the capital of this vast country, literally "at the gates of Moscow"
